Family Workshops: For children aged 5 to 11 and their families

Family Film Club host Vanessa Clifton-Laurence and our regular festival artists and animators return again to help you make your own movie magic. To make it even more special, all the films that are made over the weekend will be compiled by a professional editor and premiered at Family Film Club on Saturday 25th at 11am.

 

Book early to avoid disappointment, workshop space is limited. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Drawing animation
Learn to draw like a professional artist with the guidance of traditional animators Mel Northover and Vanessa Clifton-Laurence. Bring your drawings alive with character and transformation.

 

Model animation
Make magic with Shelly Wain and John Harmer. Build your own model characters and bring your 3D world a live using digital cameras and laptops.

 

Cut-out animation
Using a rich assortment of materials and textures build a picture in motion. Filmmakers Emma Sullivan and Ben Harmer will help you shape your fantasy characters and bring them alive on the screen.

 

Silhouette animation
Inspired by the first ever, full-length animated film in history, The Adventures of Prince Achmed, explore the beautiful technique of silhouette animation. Work with artist Reza Gajra and editor Birdie Hall to create your own short films
