Neda is a little girl who, after a terrible flood kills
her mother, moves to another town with her father. She can't
respond to her new cousins, their attempt to cheer her just
worsen her sadness. Handling child bereavement in an intelligent
and brave way, Butterflies Are Just a Step Behind uses
visual poetry and even a brief animation sequence to explore
emotional recovery.
