15-year-old Patrick feels at odds with his parents and
schoolmates, and is at his happiest when hanging out with
his best friend, old blues player Mr. Jones and his dog
Leonard. A chance meeting with two new kids in town, and
a surprise horse-shaped secret on Mr. Jones’ farm
lead to Patrick’s discovery of his hidden talent for
timber racing, a passion that will help him discover who
he wants to be. His racecourse, however, will turn out to
be full of unexpected hurdles…

This film is part of the LCFF's Official
Selection
and here are the reviews
from the LCFF's First Light Young
Jury:
It’s about a 15-year-old boy called Patrick whose
father forces him to play baseball but he really wants to
be in the derby. The best scene is (in the race) when Patrick
says, “Come on Rusty, let’s see what you can
do”, and then Patrick and Rusty punch through to finish
in first place. I think the audience for this would be families
and friends and people on dates.
