The new handsomely restored version of Paul Grimault and Jacques Prévert’s animated classic, based upon Hans Christian Andersen’s tale of The Shepherdess and the Chimney Sweep. In the fantastic palace of a tyranical king, the figures in the paintings on the walls come alive and take off, whilst the king sleeps. A landmark in animation, with Wojciech Kilar's plaintive score, Jacques Prevert’s delectable script, and Paul Grimault’s stunning designs and architectural vision, which have subsequently influenced animators world-wide.
