The story of the famous UK case in which McDonald's sued
two Greenpeace activists for distributing leaflets warning
customers of the dangers of fast food. The trial turned
out to be the longest in English legal history, costing
McDonald's an estimated £10 million in legal fees
and untold damage to its reputation. McLibel is
a rivetting and stirring documentary about the power multinational
corporations wield over everyday lives, and two unlikely
heroes who boldly argued their case against McDonald's army
of lawyers and ‘experts’.
UK/US 2005 Dir. Franny Armstrong, Ken Loach 84 min.
